From Ponteland’s St-Mary’s Church to Lanchester’s Burnhopeside Hall
Enjoy a brief slideshow or a very small selection of photos of the key moments to get a flavour of Hannah’s and James’ country Wedding
Hannah started her day in Ponteland getting ready with her Bridesmaids and her close family. She made her way to St-Mary’s in a lovely vintage car accompanied by her brother. He walked her proudly down the aisle. The ceremony was warm and moving, solemn at times, relaxed at others. A brief and very light shower didn’t interfere with the guests and family congratulating the Newlyweds on exiting the church. After a confetti shower, we managed to take group photos before making our way to Burnopeside Hall where drinks and canapes awaited all. Hannah, James and I broke away a few times from the Party to capture some photos of just the two of them. The sun, the moon and even a rainbow came out to meet the Bride and Groom, and when they’d gone, we persevered and took a set in the dark of night under one of the Hall’s enchanting old trees. Hannah’s two other brothers opened the speeches in the marquis with happy-and not too embarrassing -tales about their sister tainted with great fondness and admiration. The Groom shared the hilarious account of how circumstances kept interfering with his carefully planned proposal! His best man entertained the Party with a well written and superbly executed rap tribute to the Groom. Hannah concluded the speeches with warm expressions of gratitude to her Groom, his family, her family, guests and friends. After a relaxed cake cutting ceremony, the Bride and Groom treated us to a first dance and were quickly joined by many guests on the dance floor. The band gave a whole new take on the traditional Scottish ceilidh, calling well-known dances to modern tunes! When I left late in the evening the party was still going strong.
